Men's Jewelry Trends Fall Winter 2016-2017
Parisian charms at Louis Vuitton
Having previously explored Indian and Far-Eastern influences in his work, Kim Jones has now returned to his beloved Paris for inspiration in his Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection for Louis Vuitton. A tribal-infused Parisian jungle look that is ready to conquer the streets, beret firmly placed on the head and monogrammed silver charms against the models’ bare skin.
Ceremonial piercings by Alexander McQueen
A return to the tortured punk look that in previous years provided some of the stand-out moments of McQueen menswear runway shows. The overall look was officer-like, but studded with facial piercings and chains joined with an ornamental safety pin. A meaningful detail that echoed the savage beauty of Lee Alexander McQueen’s collections, and rendered even more hypnotic by the piano music that provided the soundtrack to the show.
Slim-line chokers at Gucci
A remnant from the recent Nineties renaissance redesigned by Alessandro Michele in a strappy, ultra-thin style, embellished with heavy traditional rings designed by the fashion house.
Dandy broches at Dolce & Gabbana
Four-leaf clovers pinned onto the lapel of an impeccably tailored suit was the look at the essence of the Sicilian Western aesthetic chosen by the fashion duo Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana in true dandy-like gentleman style for their Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection.
Valentino's masculine rings
For Valentino’s latest jewelry offering, the Italian fashion design duo embellished the first few looks with shimmering rings before the collection gradually evolved into more boho-style,elaborated with plush feather necklaces.
Wales Bonner's neo-tribal jewelry
Guest star of MAN Fall/Winter 2016-2017, Wales Bonner has set the pace for a next generation of British fashion, stirred up trouble on Menswear Week in London with her Spirituals collection. Her poetic style, celebrating the diversity of black masculinity, reinvents traditional tribal finery with her twist on colored pearl chokers with baroque crystal pendants.
Dior Homme talisman necklaces
After the flower-decorated pins and badges we saw last season, Kris Van Assche has once again revealed his penchant for the natural world with his gris-gris talisman chokers decorated with coral and stars, a poetic refrain which punctuated the show.
Statement chains at Prada
Prada embarked a voyage to the open seas with the Italian-sailor look, dripping with chains that look just as good around the wrist as they do dangled from a belt.
