I avoided this topic for a long time. I was hoping that the pandemic would not last and we would not have to change not only our lifestyle but also our clothing style. But the reality is that now face masks have become an integral part of our wardrobe and even every look. It is obvious that every fashionista strives to look perfect in any situation. And the mask doesn't have to be an ugly spot! Now this piece of outfit complements the every fashionable look of those who strive to be at the top of fashion trends.
Ok, now I have come very close to considering all the options for combining different types of face masks with various outfits. I do not think that such a list will fit into one article, but today I want to dig out the most interesting ones in my opinion. Considering just a huge number of outfits for different occasions, I tried to divide face masks into seven types and imagine how to combine them with different outfits in different ways.
Transparet masks
And immediately my first unexpected choice is transparent masks. Yes, who would have thought, we cannot live without showing our emotions! And any opaque mask covers more than half of the face, depriving the interlocutor of the opportunity to understand our feelings at any moment. It is just disappointing! But masks with transparent inserts or even completely transparent ones come to the rescue, allowing us to be protected and at the same time not hide our face from others.
They come in different versions, large for the whole face or small covering only the nose and mouth, completely transparent or with a small insert especially for the mouth, in a variety of colors and patterns. I think such masks are universal and will suit absolutely everyone to any outfit and any situation. Whether it's a business meeting, shopping or a friend's birthday, it's easy to find the right color and style.
Lace masks
Moving on, lace masks are my love at first sight! When I saw them, it took my breath away, delicate lace only decorates the face and adds mystery to the look. Yes, emotions are not visible, but that's the point! All focus on the eyes!
This mask is suitable for any woman who wants to add mystery to her look. The perfect choice for a date or a romantic evening. Here I want to give a little advice, choose such a translucent lace mask, so your appearance will be much more attractive, and your beloved will try to catch every movement of your lips through the mask.
Evening and cocktail masks
I simply could not miss this type of masks and therefore selected them in a separate category. From the first days of lockdown, I was interested in how to dress for a presentation or a party to stand out. After all, ordinary surgical masks look as stupid as possible! Therefore, I was looking for fabric masks and independently tried to decorate them with various sequins and crystals. Well, some of them was very good ;)
Now we have an opportunity to choose and buy almost any type of masks and for cocktail parties as well. Nevertheless, I want to remind you to keep the distance and cover your nose and face with a mask.
Casual masks
Having touched cocktail masks, it is worth moving on to casual ones. Yes, we have to wear masks every day, but this does not mean that we cannot be beautiful at the same time. A casual mask should protect us and others and at the same time match your look. Especially if you have to go to work every day, it makes sense to choose a comfortable protection that suits your outfit. Or even if you are a freelancer and work from home, you should choose a casual mask for your rare outings to the store.
There are no specific recommendations here, each mask can be used for your daily outfit. I just want to wish to choose something bright and colorful, it’s a chance to color this gray period at least a little.
Designer masks
Of course, top fashion designers and brands did not stay away from the new trend. On the contrary, they try to create their own vision of how a fashionista should look today. I must say that I liked a lot of what I saw. There are elegant masks for formal wear and a more casual style for everyday or street style. Many creators, as usual, show creativity and experiment with styles. But the whole trend has already manifested itself, the face mask has firmly entered our life and will take its place in the wardrobe along with other fashion accessories.
Bandanas
Well, the most convenient type of face mask in my opinion is a bandana. Nothing before could force me to put on such an accessory, but now, especially in winter, I think this is the most successful solution. Such a mask perfectly covers both the face and neck, and it also has a killer feature - it easily slides onto the neck in case you need to take it off!
Another plus, the bandana has almost unlimited decorative potential. With all sorts of colors, patterns, scarf or collar stretch, you will definitely pick up something unique and something that you like.
Mask as decor
Finally, I want to talk about a rather interesting type of masks - a mask as a decoration. This is not a new trend and I have already touched on this topic in the article about the Burning Man Festival. Such mask has little or no protection, but it's just incredibly beautiful. This stylish face decoration is particularly designed for special occasions and is used in themed or intimate outfits. It seems to me that in order to brightify our everyday life, sometimes we need to arrange a small holiday for ourself and put on a such extravagant accessory.
